She bought a single Bitty Twin to be a "sister" to her original bitty baby that she lucked out and found cheap on ebay a couple years ago, She named her "Kelly" (I am hoping after my best bud, who knows?) Kelly got to spend the day with us watching Steve run. BUT THE SAD TIMES CAME while waiting to grab the bus to Union Station she realized she did not have her doll (Julie), She had just got her for her birthday in March (the 70's girl)
Steve and Braxton RAN 5 blocks back to the hotel while we searched the bags, No luck at the hotel or in our suitcases or bags, and when the boys returned we had missed the bus and had to hale a cab so we wouldn' miss our train back home. Just like in a movie, we got there during the final boarding call and were the last people to board the train and get seated... Then it all hit and she cried... a lot. And I held my sweet girl and rocked her and we spent the next few hours on the train making calls to the hotel, AG store and restaurants we ate at trying to remember when she had her last. We even looked through photos on the camera to see when/where she was holding her... We figured out that after dinner the night before she had her when we returned to the hotel and spent some time in the lobby having hot chocolate and using the computers and hanging out before going up to our room for the night. She believes she set her on a shelf under the coffee table she was using to draw a picture...
After many calls to the hotel and the staff checking the room, checking lost & found, checking with the housekeeping staff... She has not turned up. I am sorry to say that I think it is highly unlikely that she will. Gracie said the sweetest thing before she went to bed... She said she hoped that Julie would make some little girl really happy no matter how she ended up with her and she hoped that she ends up somewhere she can be loved.
What a hard lesson to learn.
I am still praying that she turns up and she can come home to Gracie
