"Break" In the Action...

This month has been crazy! We experienced a little "Break in the action" (Our regular schedule) when Steve fell on one of his regular runs. He was starting out and as he entered the trails at Lake Harbor Park, he took a spill on some hidden ice. Not only did he have the pain of the fall but, knowing he had injured his arm and dealing with that, had to crawl, walk, hobble, out of the wood and start down the road back home. He walked about a 1/4 mile out of the woods, then another 1/4 maybe down the road when he decided he couldnt make it home and stopped at a house to call me for help. ER visit, morphine, sedated reducing (re-setting his broken wrist), cast and a lot more pain later we were leaving the ER with the realization that a surgery was not far off.

Indeed, on March 19th he had surgery where the Orthopaedic surgeon installed a nice titanium plate and 9 screws - Nice Hardware! An overnight stay in the hospital and many many days of recovery. It has been a long road, with a lot pain, 3 more casts and physical therapy but just like with everything, my Stevie is very determined and motivated, his recovery has been a journey not chosen but embraced with a positive attitude and he is now out and running again. Praise God for such a wonderful Hubby!
