We had an awesome time in Chicago again this fall.
We had a weekend of beautiful weather and lots of family funtime. Steve made us all proud in finishing the Marathon well and being so strong and dedicated to his running and training this entire year leading up to the race. The weather was incredibly hot for a marathon and there were a lot of runners dropping like flies. We were so thankful that Steve finished without getting dehydrated, fatigued, or injured. By the finish they had raised the alert system to "high" and had lots of medical staff on hand to help people out. Due to the heat Steve had to slow his pace to make sure he stayed safe but still finished well 3:39:51. His overall place: 3195 (Seems high, but is in te top 10%, of the 33,000 runners that finished the race. He was hoping for 3:20:00 but loved the expeience and having the family there to cheer him on! We got to see him at many places on the course & had tons of fun.

We also got plenty of exercise ourselves, walking everywhere except a few trips on the redline to Chinatown for mile 21 and 22, and off to the finish line, where we didn't manage to hook-up with Steve at all and eventually went back to the hotel and met him there.
